This is definitely a sport that aims to build confidence and tests you both physically and mentally. It encourages self discipline and is a great way of training functionality, agility and co-ordination – its not for the faint-hearted !


Parkour – which is also referred to as Freerunning was founded in the 1980’s in France – it derives from the french word Parkours meaning ‘route’ or ‘course’. In 2003 there was a channel 4 documentary called ‘ jump London’ this was when the term ‘freerunning’ was used to introduce the new sport to English speaking community. It is a physical discipline which includes running , jumping , climbing to move freely over any terrain only using the ability of the body.
